The long Labor Day weekend is looking beautiful in Londonderry and four farms are open for business with pick your own and pre-picked fruits and veggies, baked goods, and so much more!
Starting in the north with Merrill’s Farm, delicious early apples, peaches, plums, corn and more are available not just for the picking but also at the farm stand. If not for the fresh produce, come for the eggs! Freshly lain brown eggs are ready for purchase at the farm stand. You’ll be amazed at how delicious these eggs taste compared to store-bought eggs.
In the center of town, Mack’s Apples also has early apples including paula reds, ginger golds, and more. Peaches are abundant on the trees with the rare chance for a pick your own opportunity! The farm stand features delicious pre-picked apples, peaches, corn, tomatoes, and veggies. Ice cream is still a hot ticket item at Mack’s, too!
Sunnycrest Farms has plentiful fruits, vegetables, honey, maple syrup, and baked goodies at their farm stand. Apples already picked include early galas, cortland, ginger golds and more. Pick your own apples, peaches and raspberries are still available, with the fruit tasting all the sweeter fresh off the tree or bush!
In the southern region, Elwood Orchards is king, offering their annual shell beans, tomatoes, and apples for the picking. Already picked items include veggies, corn, and nectarines, among other yummy produce, are available at the farm stand.
Forecasts show that the temperatures will range from the upper-70′s to the low 80′s throughout the weekend and the sun will shine for much of the weekend. What a better way to celebrate the “end” of summer than to stop by one of Londonderry’s farms for fresh produce?
